Privacy

Short version: your game lives in your browser, and we count anonymous events to make better puzzles.

What's stored on your device

Layers Game saves your in-progress puzzles, results, streak, stats and theme in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device unless you share a result yourself. Clearing your browser data resets it.

Anonymous analytics

To see which puzzles are too hard or too easy, the game sends small events to our own server — for example “puzzle started”, “layer 2 completed” or “hint opened”, with counts like time taken, mistakes and hints used. Each browser gets a random identifier so we can tell whether people come back the next day. Events never include your guesses or the answers, and we don't use cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no events are sent at all.

How to play

Every puzzle has three layers. Peel them one at a time.

  1. Layer 1 — Mini Puzzles. Solve four quick puzzles: a Clue Stack, a Missing Link, a Word Shift and a Letter Path.
  2. Layer 2 — Connections. Sort 16 words into four groups of four. Your Layer 1 answers are on the board, marked ●. Five mistakes and the groups are revealed.
  3. Final Layer. Each group gives you a key word. Use all four keys to crack one last question. You get three tries.

Stuck? Every layer has hints. A new puzzle unlocks at midnight in your time zone.
